AI startup Stanhope, fueled by neuroscience, secures £2.3 million, led by UCL Tech Fund alongside Moonfire Ventures, Rockmount Capital, and angel investors.

Stanhope's pioneering AI technology, guided by neuroscience principles, aims to develop AI resembling the human brain's information-processing mechanisms, with expertise from industry veterans and neurology professors.

Based on the Free Energy Principle pioneered by Professor Karl Friston, Stanhope's models focus on how the brain anticipates surroundings, addressing challenges like hallucinations and adaptability, with potential applications across industries.

Stanhope's innovative approach is tested in delivery drones employing 'active inference,' bypassing traditional GPS, with deployments in the Royal Navy and German Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation, marking a significant step towards practical implementation and further research.
