Rabbit Inc. Secures $10 Million for AI-Powered Mobile OS and R1 Smartphone
Rabbit Inc. announced a $10 million investment from Khosla Ventures to advance its AI-centric mobile device operating system. With a prior $20 million funding round, Rabbit's valuation reached $100-150 million. The upcoming R1 smartphone, developed in collaboration with Teenage Engineering AB, features the Rabbit OS based on the in-house generative AI model LAM.
The R1's LAM model enables natural language interactions, streamlining tasks like airline reservations and grocery shopping. Compatible with major apps like DoorDash, Spotify, and Yelp, Rabbit aims to support niche consumer apps and expand compatibility with Android, Linux, Windows, and macOS.
Rabbit's LAM model employs a neuro-symbolic architecture, blending symbolic AI for reasoning tasks and neural networking for pattern recognition. The latest funds will facilitate the R1's CES debut and enhance the LAM model.
CEO Jesse Lyu envisions overcoming the disjointed app-based OS experience, emphasizing Rabbit's commitment to innovation and cross-platform AI compatibility.
