Korean chip design startup MangoBoost has raised $55 million in a Series A round led by IMM Investment, bringing its total funding to $65 million. Founded in 2022, MangoBoost develops data processing units (DPUs) designed to enhance the efficiency of data centers. DPUs can reduce CPU usage by up to 95%, addressing the growing demand for cloud computing services, particularly in AI applications. MangoBoost's DPUs are customizable for each client, setting them apart from competitors like Nvidia, Intel, AMD, Microsoft, and Amazon.

MangoBoost's CEO Jangwoo Kim, a former senior engineer at Oracle, highlighted the company's expertise, with its management team composed of former principal engineers from Intel, Microsoft, and Samsung. The funding will fuel MangoBoost's mission to optimize data centers, aligning with the increasing demand for cloud services. The startup's innovative approach aims to reduce data center costs and improve the efficiency of AI and big data applications.

Kim emphasized that MangoBoost's DPUs will enable data centers to focus more on AI processing by offloading other tasks. While MangoBoost faces competition from tech giants, its ability to provide customized solutions and its experienced team position it as a strong contender in the market. The funding will support MangoBoost's efforts to revolutionize data centers and meet the rising demand for cloud computing services.
