Former Amazon employees Marqo secures $12.5M in funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners to further develop its AI search technology. The Series A round includes investors like January Capital and Blackbird Ventures, with plans to market the company's search engine.

Up to 90% of corporate data is unstructured, making it difficult to search and utilize. Marqo's platform enables businesses to analyze and utilize unstructured data for sentiment analysis and e-commerce personalization, positioning it as a valuable resource in the AI competition.

Co-founded by Amazon alum Jesse Clark and Tom Hamer, Marqo relocates its headquarters to San Francisco after raising $17.8M. The startup utilizes machine learning models in its vector search technique, catering to e-commerce and health care sectors with its cloud managed service.

CEO Tom Hamer emphasizes the power of vector searches in unleashing the full potential of AI for enterprises, highlighting the significant impact of Marqo's technology in the industry.
