Amazon Doubles Investment in Singapore's Cloud Infrastructure

Amazon.com Inc. plans to invest $9 billion to double its cloud infrastructure in Singapore over the next four years, aiming to meet increasing demand for cloud services and accelerate AI adoption.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its footprint outside the U.S., with significant investments in Asian markets, while diversifying away from China.

AWS aims to spend over $35 billion outside the U.S. this year, including investments in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Malaysia, and Thailand, as part of global expansion plans.

Singapore, a central location in Asia for American tech companies, is seen as a gateway to the fast-growing Southeast Asian market, attracting investments from the likes of Meta Platforms Inc. and Alphabet Inc.
